San Andreas, an authentic California Gold Rush town, is an unincorporated census-designated place and the county seat of Calaveras County, California.

Home to Calaveras High School, the Calaveras County Courthouse, Government Center, Mark Twian St. Joseph's Hospital, the California Highway Patrol and numerous other public agencies, San Andreas is a small but vibrant community.

The 2010 census counted 2,783 persons calling San Andreas home. San Andreas covers a geographic area of just under 8.4 square miles.

Registered as California Historical Landmark #252, San Andreas is accessed via California's historic Highway 49.  The geographic coordinates for San Andreas are: 38° 11' 46" North, 120° 40' 50" West. Click here for map

San Andreas has four distinct seasons, with warm summers and chilly winters.  Snow is rare in San Andreas but is abundant just miles away in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
